Just found a way to block posts from farmville, zooworld, etc. On the post go to posted 'via farmville' this will take you to application and then find 'block application' button. The required application will no longer appear when your friend kills a pig, plants a tree, shags a sheep, etc.
E.g. look at this post. look at bottom line-Yesterday at 10:07 via Movies.....
click on via movies(or farmville/mafiawars etc on other posts) you then go to movies and can block the application.
