dahab

It was a shame to hear about the bombings in Dahab in Egypt. I had the pleasure to stay there 14 years ago.At that time it was basic to say the least. There were no hotels at that time, I slept on the floor inside a building more like a stable. It remains the hottest place that I've visited, 52c. I spent my days sitting on futons near the beach drinking coca-cola and smoking the 'peace pipe', dressed in arab garb with my jesus sandals on.The breeze from the red sea coming across from Saudi Arabia, was a hot,hot wind, jumping into the sea was the only relief-or hiding in the stable. Dahab was one of my earliest backpacking experiences and still one of the best. Bali,London,Dahab-tourists are an easy target for these cowards.
